i’m using your template (which i LOVE) but there are a couple things i want to customize and i cant figure it out…
1. under the title of the blog posting, next to the little clock icon (which i love), it says “Posted in” before the time. i want to remove that text. can you explain how to do that?
2. i’m also wanting to customize the colors of the fonts – specifically to go with less RED and more BLUE shades. i can’t figure out where you have those colors coded… (pardon me but i’m sorta new to this)…
3. finally, how do you get that great fade on the font when its’ hovered? love love love it!!!

Hi, I believe I have found a serious bug that causes all pages to redirect to Internet Explorer’s “Web page not found” 404 page.
In dfblog/css/ie.css , there is a backslash missing in the URL when calling iepngfix.htc . Therefore WP will attempt to call that code via relative referencing vs. absolute referencing.
Bug occurs when:
1. User is using IE6 or IE7 or IE8 in Compatibility View
2. Blog is using mod_rewrite
Therefore, if you have a subpage called /ABOUT/, the code will try to find iepngfix.htc in ABOUT/wp-content/themes/dfblog/css/ ! This directory clearly doesn’t exist but makes IE6 and IE7 go crazy and redirect people to the 404 page even though the site loads properly. I hope this helps!

I really love the theme, but I’m having trouble with it.
I’m installing in on a development site so I can experiment. At first it worked great. Then all of the .png images disappeared. I don’t think I did anything to the code which should have caused this.
Can anyone shed any insight on what might be causing this?

I love this theme…it’s simple and elegant.
I do need some help, though. I was testing it out and all of a sudden none of the .png images will show up. I don’t believe I changed anything in the code. I even did a complete re-install, but no luck.

Hello guys, great theme, but I have some unexpected problems with widgets. When I add some of them to the sidebar, they are not displayed on the blog! None of them. When I switch to the different theme, they appear without a problem. I use WP 2.8.4 with the Czech translation. Can you help me? I really like your theme and I would like to keep it on my blog.
Problem solved! Maybe there were some problems during transfer theme’s files to the server, I have copied the theme once again and it works now properly! Thank you for such a great template! I have changed it little bit to my taste

He observado que entre el menu y el contenido del blog queda un hueco que podria ser aprovechado para insertar algun codigo html. Verás que entre el menu (Home, about) y la linea donde empieza con Latest publications hay un hueco que podria ser aprovechado para poner algun codigo html (logos, anuncios, avisos globales). Aqui te aparece el arbol pero es algo que no uso.
Seria posible que agregaras esa opcion en el theme? Gracias.
Diseño excelente!! Pero tengo un problema. En IE7 (no he podido probar versiones anteriores), las páginas no se acaban de cargar y aparece HTTP 404. Al volver atrás las paginas unas veces se cargan y otras no. Esto no pasa en Firefox, Chrome, Safari o IE8. Alguna solución? Me encanta el diseño, pero la mayoría de gente usa versiones antiguas de IE y no pueden ver la web sin errores. Gracias por la ayuda.

I am using WP as a CMS. It is in English, with only pages. I would like that French translation pages are not visible in the menu (only accessibled from links in English pages). No problem with the widget Pages in sidebar which can exclude the pages we want. But concerning the top menu of your theme, I can find a solution… I am not expert in PHP or other languages, can you give a little help?

Me encata el diseño, me parece de los mejores, sin embargo quisiera saber como poder borrarle el titulo madre que dice ‘Últimas Publicaciones’…
El título de “Últimas Publicaciones” lo puedes editar o cambiar en el fichero dfblog/includes/content-header.inc.php

In case if someone is interested, you have to replace with in archive.php. Then you might also want to delete a link to the full text that goes right after that.
And there is the same thing in search.php affecting your search results.

There are no “read more” tags when I browse posts by categories. The tags are there on the homepage. How can this be fixed, please?

I really like the theme, but I need help uploading my logo. I’m not very technically savvy, but read an older post for an earlier version of this theme where you gave instructions to override the logo file with the user’s new one. I’ve done that with a new png file, but the theme isn’t recognizing my new logo. It’s still showing the default.

dfblog–images–logo– and my logo, but it’s not showing on the site. There must be another step, right?

I have had a problem where the sidebar widgets have suddenly ‘disappeared’. Only one widget appears even thought there are 3 enabled. Most articles on WordPress support about sidebar issues suggest that the problem is theme related. I upgraded to the latest WordPress and the latest dfblog but that didn’t fix anything (also tried disabling/deleting plugins).
I was able to resolve this issue in the end – it was not theme related, but a problem with the wp_options table data becoming corrupted during upgrading versions.
How do I make the “users” dropdown invisible to the public? (The login thing). Great theme, though.
I’m also trying to hide the “users” dropdown. Does someone have a tip for that? Thanks!

Hello, I have upgraded the latest version of wp ie 2.8.1. But themes can not be previewed. I have been trying to change the theme with 2.8. compatible ones, but nothing changes. Please preview my blog, could you help me?
I found the issue, it seems to be reading several files from the default dfblog directory even though I am using grey noise.
Anyway. I did get it resolved. I just wanted to let you know.

I do have one request? Can you tell me how to replace the BLOG background in the header? I can rework our logo to fit into the available space, but the BLOG background in the header doesn’t fit well with what we are trying to do.
I found the x repeating image and replaced it with a gradient that fits our color scheme, but apparently, it is sitting below the BLOG image.
I would appreciate your insight!

Bueno, si modificas el código, al aparecer una nueva versión, el código que has añadido no puede estar en la nueva versión. La mejor solución es que anotes el código que añades para volver a insertarlo en las nuevas versiones… vamos, copiar y pegar. Si quieres puedes pasarnos el tipo de código que añades y donde para poder preveer esto a la hora de hacer nuevas versiones. Se me ocurre que se puede añadir algún campo personalizado en la administración de la plantilla para que muestre el código que te interesa en el lugar que quieras. De este modo el código que añades estaría en la base de datos y no dependería de las versiones…

Thanks for this theme I am using very proudly!
For those wanting to use the wp-syntax plugin with dfBlog, you can grab this custom css: http://www.kirya.net/~julien/wp-syntax-for-dfblog.css
Then save this file as wp-syntax.css in your dfblog theme folder, it will automatically override the original wp-syntax styles.
It would be great this css could be distributed with the theme: it is not used if wp-syntax is not active.

I seem to be having some major troubles with Explorer 7. I can navigate the site for around 4 or 5 clicks, but I soon get a 404 message saying “The webpage cannot be found”
In firefox I do not have this problem at all.
Obviously the pages are there, any ideas or suggestions?

The search function doesn’t work well. Only the first page will displayed, if you switch to the next page, you will see the second page of your normal posts, not the second page of the search results. Has anybody an idea how to fix this?

There is an important feature lacking for this amazing theme:
1. The possibility to set tabs width in menubar (for blogs with a great amount of pages), in order to ensure a correct visualization.
2. Submenus, for nested pages (this is very important).
3. An independent CSS style for menubar items, now is not possible to style them without affecting the entire site.
Will you consider to include the above features in a future release?

Hi, would also like to thank you for publishing this. Neat and clean! One issue, though. On an unmodified, very basic implementation, The background (noisegray, in this case) covers all empty space in the content & sidebar div’s. This is only in IE7, not firefox or opera.

2. Overwrite the image ‘logo.png’ in the directory ‘/images’ of the dfBlog theme with your own image
3. In the Apparence -> Theme Options of the admin Wordpress pages, select ‘Show as image’ in the Logo type section
4. Save changes

Nice theme. But I found a missed gettext encoding in index.php, the_content template tag is not encoded and is showing ‘Leer más »’. I was going to release a Swedish translations, but I’ll wait until thats fixed. Thanks.
